China South America (CSA) is dedicated to exploring and keeping readers up to date with the growing economic and political ties between China and South America. Including all the good stuff; commodities, energy, international finance, foreign policy, South-South cooperation, microfinance and more.
As a Peruvian-American, global citizen, burning with entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for all that is China – South American (and greater Latam) relations, economics, politics and personal exchange.
My interest in China stems from its ever increasing investments and presence in Latin America. I lived, studied and traveled to China on various occasions for periods of 3-4 months between 2006 – 2009. In 2010 I decided to relocate my life to Shanghai, China where I happily living life, working and continuing my never ending journey to better understanding this incredible country.
I attended American University where I graduated with a BA in Economics in 2008. Despite being a trained economist, I prefer the worlds of international politics and finance.

I, Bennett A. Reiss Iberico (or Benito for short), created China South America in May 2008 with the underlying goal of assembling a record of the my own written analysis of the inter-regional relationship between China & South America’s, and also to share with the world a database of news bites relating to China’s ever evolving relation with South American countries, commodity markets, microfinance and emerging market cooperation.
